Upcoming Events

 

·        The Losar festival of Iron Ox year will be celebrated from 12th February, 2021 onward at GRL Monastery wherein the senior monks of the Monastery will perform various Vajrayana traditional rituals for three days such as Lhamo Tsetor, Kangsol, Lhamo Tsok, Offering to Kunga and Lhab-sang for removing obstacles and impediment from the Societies in Iron Ox year. This ritual has been continuously performing during Losar for the betterment of the Society since the monastery was come into exists in Tibet long time ago.

 

 

·        The 7th Monyul Monlam Chenmo will be organized by the Organizing Committee at Mon-Lungla w.e.f 22nd February, 2021 to 28th February, 2021 for seven days for the world peace and tranquility. However, the threat of Covid-19 is yet to be over; hence, the safety measurement shall be followed as per the guidelines and SOPs issued by the government. The mass gathering without facemask and social distancing will not be permitted during the Monlam. For the benefit of the poor and needy people, the Organizing Committee will be arranging three days free Sowa Rigpa Medical camp during the Monlam as usual from 22nd to 24th Feb, 2021 i.e first, second and third day of Monlam.

BYE-LAWS OF BCPS



 The Central Office, BCPS has printed and distributed a compiled book of Bye-Laws and Schedule of Rules and Regulation of Society namely “Bye-Laws of BCPS” on 5th January, 2021 to every Wing of the Society including schools, Library and main offices. The said book was designed, compiled and translated in Bhoti language by Society’s Joint Secretary, Dr. Ngawang Thupten.

Erection of Fencing


 

The erection work of the security fencing at various places of the Society in Tawang and West Kameng districts has been carrying out by Society’s Land Management Committee headed by Gelong Sange Tsering, Assistant Secretary, BCPS.

Launching BCPS Website




The long pending work of creating website for the Society was finally completed and officially launched on the auspicious day of Tongchen (full moon day) of the last month of Iron Rat year i.e Thursday, the 28th January, 2021 at 09.09 hrs by the President, Geshe Dondup Tsering in the presence of the Secretary General Shri Tashi Tsering and head of the Wings along with the staff of Central Office, BCPS.  The website was Developed & Maintained by Er. Groshi Chongroju at Quick Digital Solution, Bomdila with help from Dr. Ngawang Thupten, Join Secretary, BCPS on content writing, material collection and designing according to the traditional touch.

Restoration of Yumchen Dolma Lhakhang



 The painting restoration work of 97 feets Yumchen Dolma Lhakhang situated at Mon-Lungla is being carried out under the stewardship of Geshe Lama Kalsang, administrator, GRL Monastery with financial source from Monastery and donation collected from general public.  The construction of this giant Tara Devi statue was completed in 2016 and opened up for public dharshan since then. 

Construction of 108 Mani (Prayer Wheel)


The construction work of 108 Mani (Prayer Wheel) around the monument stupa of 12th Tsona Gontse Rinpoche, which is situated at the campus of Shati Deva Vidyalaya, Upper Gonpa, Bomdila, is being carried out under the supervision of Gelong Tashi Gompu, one of the senior most monks of the GRL Monastery. The architectural design and art work has been guided and steered by Shri Phuntsok Tsering, the renowned traditional sculpture artist from Mon region.

Resumed Sowa Rigpa Clinic at GRL Monastery


 

The Sowa Rigpa Clinic has resumed its free healthcare services to the general public from 22nd January, 2021 after few month closures due to Covid-19. Dr. Dondu Wange, DMO, West Kameng was kind enough to permitted his Medical Officer (Sowa Rigpa) Dr. Ngawang Thupten to function from Sowa Rigpa Clinic, GRL Monastery until arrangement of cabin/space for him at General Hospital, Bomdila.

New Principal appointed to Shanti Deva Vidyalaya, Bomdila and teachers to schools running under BCPS


 Shri Prabhakar Mahunta, Ex-Senior Teacher, High Secondary School, Lumla was appointed to the post of Principal of Shanti Deva Vidyalaya (SDV) School and few new teachers were also appointed and posted as per requirement to the schools running under BCPS such as GRL Monastic School, Thubten Choeling Balika Vidyalaya and Shanti Deva Vidyalaya, Bomdila to boost up the quality of education in these schools.

 

New Secretary General, BCPS


 



The member of the Executive Board of the Society has unanimously selected Shri Tashi Tsering to the post of Secretary General and with approval from the General Body of the Society, he was appointed to the post of Secretary General on 1st September, 2020. Shri Dorjee Norbu, previous Secretary General, BCPS has given his resignation on 30th July, 2020 after more than two decades in service.

The 33rd General Body Meeting of Buddhist Culture Preservation Society (BCPS) was productively conducted from 7th to 9th August, 2020 under the chairmanship of Geshe Dondup Tsering, the President of the BCPS. 

Appointment of New President, BCPS




As per the Bye-Laws of Buddhist Culture Preservation Society (BCPS), Mon-Bomdila, Geshe Dondup Tsering, Vice President of BCPS, ex-officio Abbot of GRL Monastery was promoted to the post of the President by its Executive Board on 5th August, 2020 after formally resigned by the previous President, Geshe Jambey Dorjee.
